A drought is a period of dry condition that results in water-related problems.
The amount of precipitation is similar at a particular location varies from the year, but over a period of years, the average amount is fairly constant. In the desserts, the average precipitation is less than 3 inches per year!

- Change in land and water temperatures
- Change in air circulation and weather patterns
- supply and demand of water issues
- Soil moisture levels
- Miss timing of rain and the agricultural seasons
