It depends on the person and their life style! Not just women's, there are lot of men's hesitate to upload their photos into the social media too! I've seen girls who uploads anything and everything without any hesitations! I think it depends on their mindset as well the way they accept and face the problems.

"What if someone misuse our picture?". Most of the girls' concern would be that. and once I was talking about this with my friend she told me that her father asked her not to upload any picture of her social media. Also i have seen some boys who doesn't like uploading pictures on social media because they think it is unnecessary.

I upload my photos in social media and I don't have any inhibitions regarding it. Because, my course of study focuses on IT and I need to create a network of people that I can exchange my knowledge with. For that purpose, I can't have an empty profile pic coz people recognize who is who mainly through that.

It's true that some people misuse it. But if we have to achieve something, some risks are worth being taken.

Not just women's, there are lot of men's hesitate to upload their photos into the social media too!

I'm familiar with few such boys and when I ask them, their answer is more along the lines of privacy. They like having a limited circle and they like keeping themselves private.

so my answer is, having our own pics as profile pic is something that everyone decides according to their purposes and lifestyle. No judgement.

In my point of view, They are not kind of person who tries to be cool or trendy.

I also heard these types of lines from my most of the friends.
But, Some parents give freedom for their children. I am also gifted to have a parents like them.
I am respecting the girls who never misuse their freedom given by parents.

Which is all depend on their mindset and the family background as well. If someone wants your face to be miss used then they will get the picture somehow. We can't totally put blame on social medias.
