What are the life lessons you still follow yourself?

There are so many skills and lessons we were taught in our childhood by our parents, teachers and elders. Some of those lessons and values still help us to cope up with this fast-moving world.

These are some of the childhood lessons I still follow in my life.

    1. Learning is a joyful thing
    2. Helping others wholeheartedly
    3. Be myself and always speak up for myself
    4. To love people with all my heart
    5. Be courageous and believe my own self

Guys, what are the life lessons you still follow yourself?
You're not going to master the rest of your life in one day. Don't stress. Master the day. Make this a daily reminder.

Learning was sour to me until I studied but when I learn to learn and not study, it was joyous. Coming back to your question,

    1. Control your emotions at all the places especially at work.
    2. Never let people know what you're up-to until you're too sure about it.
    3. Always give respect to people irrespective of anything
    4. Never repeat the same mistake thrice. Not twice.
    5. Try to understand the other person in their point of view
    6. Relationship decisions shouldn't be based on ego
    7. Hear people more, give them a chance to explain
    8. Reading news is a waste of time until it has something to do with you or your investments.
    9. You might have 1000 friends in the social media but only those 10 people matters to you which is 1%
    10. Never help anyone until your help is required or asked.
    11. There is enough hatred in the world, try to smile a little more.
    12. Nobody is permanent.
    13. Never make jokes on people which you won't take it on yourself.
    14. Always appreciate people for their efforts

    At last,

Everyone has the right to choose and change without considering someone else's emotion and self respect because that is still legal - Alcatrez Dey

    At last,
These are must follow life lessons. But I think you got my question wrong, I asked what are the childhood lessons that you still follow in your life?

Is it really okay to choose and change things by hurting others emotionally? Isn't it wrong?

Oh my bad! I just read the headline question and your pointed reply. Now to answer to your extended question in abstract,

    1. Respect elders and treat old people with utmost care and love
    2. Your visitors comes before you in everything
    3. Basics are very important - grammar, discipline, habits
    4. Question - if you don't understand properly
    5. Never repeat your mistakes twice ( using updated version only) :P

However, my reply is a multi-learned thing from real life experiences.

This is not about right or wrong but if people choose to do it then still it's legally nonpunishable. And fortunately or unfortunately you still respect them too.

Agree with you every person has the right to do what they want, It may feel wrong to us but still, we are respecting them because one wrong action (according to our perspective) won't reduce the respect we have for them.

Not just our perception but even when people do wrong to us. You avoid them in your life and your respect diminishes but it shouldn't fade away. For ex., in your personal life - your ex-es, best friends, relatives, in work life - boss, colleagues.

Education is a must. Parenting guidance and proper teaching in the school are very important for all the children.

Totally agree with you, education, parenting and teaching these are the three things which shape a child into a responsible human being.
